How To: Throw a Selfcare Night

Nothing to do on a Friday night? 

Self-care is the best way to show yourself some extra love, reduce stress, and anxieties by relaxing. Stress is known to be one of the leading causes of hair loss, and here's why: 

Stress can make your follicles go into a 'resting phase' so they don't grow any more hair strands. Then, over time it can easily fall out from touching, brushing, or even washing it normally. This is why it's important to take a couple of hours a week for yourself to reduce stress and reach a Zen mindset. Here are 5 things you can do during your self-care night.

 

1. Give yourself a mini facial: 

Break out your best skincare and face masks. Take the time to massage your serums, moisturizers, and eye creams into your face and temples. Use a jade roller to help stimulate circulation and healthy blood flow, and roll away from your face.

 

2. Take an Epsom salt bath:

Crank the water up and take a nice steamy Epsom salt bath. Epsom salt is known to be a natural healer. It provides your body with magnesium and also helps you relax and promotes sleep.

 

3. Give yourself a manicure/pedicure:

Nothing gives yourself a confidence boost like a fresh set. Try using a bold color like yellow or coral to exude happiness.

 

4. No alcohol:

As much as you want to pour yourself a big glass of wine during your wine night, stay away from alcohol! Try making yourself a mocktail if you're feeling something fruity and want the satisfaction of having a beverage.

 

5. Watch your favorite movie:

The epitome of relaxation is putting on your favorite movie, popping some microwave popcorn, and lighting a couple of candles. Chances are, the movie will spark happiness and make you forget about the stress in your life for a bit.
